Rearrange the living room furniture

If you are planning to rearrange your living room furniture in the near future, or move to a new room, do it two ways set the following living room furniture where you can put any items properly and neatly.

1. Make two paths: If you have a large enough space to put the two sofas in the living room, make two different paths that can be accessed by guests making it easier for guests to move to another room as a dining room or kitchen. Two lanes is good access for everyone in order not to run into each other and blocking the way to the room each other.
2. Use a distance of 18 inches. A distance of 18 inches is the right distance to separate each furniture (between the sofa and the table, or sofa and chairs) so that guests will be more comfortable passing between two furniture.

Amazing penthouse in Bermondsey, London, UK designed by Daniel Hopwood architectural practice

 The project which studied in contrast between rough and polished surface old and new parts and light with darkness interplays named the Night and Day Penthouse located in the Bermondsey district of London, UK.
This is the design of Daniel Hopwood architectural practice for a young American. The bachelor pad was created as an ideal party setting with resilient materials and finishes. The living area has an open layout and features floor to ceiling windows for an overview of the city with a large sofa in the center and a cozy atmosphere enriched through the addition of several accent pillows for more texture.

There wasn’t much need for storage areas so the bookshelves allowed more flavor and the living area continues with the dining room which takes elements from different parts with a custom made table made of reclaimed wood and a polished steel ceiling to reflect it as well as antique French armchairs and Bertoia side chairs.

A design for a single family in Vancouver, Canada

Located in Vancouver, Canada, this house was created for a single family with contemporary style spreading over three floors on a sloping site that has a focus on the connection with the outdoors through the double height spaces in the central living area.
This house named the Groveland House and designed by the architect Mcleod Bovell. The upper level has a green area next to the swimming pool and the middle floor is dedicated to the entertainment section with a view of the natural bedrock on the ground floor. The open layout expands the house through the double height spaces which interact with a large roof plane acting as a deep cover for the outdoor spaces as well.

The rooftop acts as a terrace with outdoor seating areas placed next to the fireplaces for a cozy ambiance even during the nighttime and there is a small pool here with a view of the main swimming pool set on the ground floor terrace

One of the most attractive apartment designed by Dupuis design in California

 This is the great apartment I have ever seen. I have ttracted by the design, the interior arrangement and the color of this apartment. It is developed by Dupuis Design in San Clemente, California, USA.
The very modern Californian-style home plays with transparency, as it features customized bay windows that offer views of the ocean, the islands and the magnificent Californian sunset. Its interior is curved and rounded, contrasting with the quite geometrical exterior.

The house was designed for maximum security in the event of an earthquake or other land movements thanks to a concrete and metal foundation, implanted very deeply into the ground. Outstandingly sensitive to ecological constraints, Peggy Dupuis designed the whole home based on a model of very low-energy consumption. The decoration and furnishings are simple, blending white, anthracite grey and black, with a touch of light-colored wood.The play between light and transparency cen be observed everywhere thanks to the materials employed. These pave the way for a Zen garden and a saltwater swimming pool with a grey bottom.

Bordered in red brick, the swimming pool is reflected onto the many façades of the building. One of the focal points of this house is a high load-bearing wall painted red with a sandstorm effect, which is visible from the entryway. A clever set of window openings, glass doors and skylights provide natural air conditioning, circulating throughout the rooms.

10 remarkable house designs in the previous year

New year is coming. Right now, it is the moment for us to relax and think about what did we do in this year. I also do.
Beside that I sit down and collect the most impressive project from this last year, selecting the ones that are worth a revisit. I am pleased to bring to you these  amazing homes presented by Architectism in 2014 and we begin our review with:
1. The Jeju Cocoon house by Planning Korea
A unique site such as the one on the UNESCO Heritage Island of Jeju, South Korea required an unconventional design and this house takes its inspiration from the volcanic land of the island, combining it with a cocoon-like geometry for an impressive eco-friendly home.

2.  The Earth House Estate by Vetsch Architektur
Located in Dietikon, Switzerland, the designer want to offer an alternative to the traditional housing solutions with a better integration of the natural landscape into the project. Being located below the ground level it becomes a part of the environment and the land provides the natural insulation needed.

 3. Residence in Kallitechnoupolis by Tense Architecture Network
You might be think that concrete house is not adorable but this concrete shell of this building brings a contemporary architectural contrast to the natural surroundings with an attempt to create ”the maximum possible tension of the shell’s introvertedness” as the designers put it, resulting in a very imposing and daring work.

 4.  The Mirror Houses by Peter Pichler ArchitectureLocated in Bolzano, Italy, this pair of residences is created for rental and their design actually reflects the landscape of the Tyrolean Dolomites with the vineyards nearby, taking the concept of integration into nature to another level while still ensuring a stunning contemporary interior.

 5.  The Zeb Pilot House by Snøhetta
Located in Larvik, Norway, this project was created through the collaboration with SINTEF, ZEB, Brodrene Dahl and Optimera for a zero emissions residence that acts as a home as well as a demonstration platform. The prototype is extremely modern and aside from its sustainable qualities, which are abundant, it also features a truly elegant contemporary design which we just adore.

6. Villa Freundorf by Project A01 ArchitectsThe villa imposes its presence with its complex geometry but the tones of white make it subtle enough not to disturb the landscape but instead standing as a majestic landmark above it. The hillside is in a region near Vienna, Austria with a serene setting that is ideal for a family retreat, so the designers put all their talent to use when creating this balanced structure with sculptural features.

7. The Organic Modern Estate by Kendrick Bangs Kellogg

Although older, this house is still as impressive today as it was in the year it was completed due to the original way in which it communicates with the rocky landscape of Joshua Tree, California. The other ingenious part of the design is the stunning interior which combines an abundance of textures and natural materials for a cozy, organic ambiance

This is the one work bringing the deconstructivist aesthetic to a new height in a setting surrounded by ancient oak trees and the serene landscape of Connecticut. Instead of opting for a cabin-like structure, this residence breaks the standards of what modern living should look like and was designed with extreme care to all of its details, making it a true work of art.

Attractive house in the trees from TOTeMS Architecture

The designers from TOTeMS Architecture accepted the challenge of "a house in the trees" of their client. That’s how this beautiful residence was born. The Casey Key Guest House is located in Florida and it offers all the privacy you can get. It has one bedroom, a bath, a beautiful living area with kitchenette and a loft. It also offers a view of Intercoastal Waterway. The distinction between the wall and the roof is distorted with the use of laminated pine beams that curve the space.

This is why the structure is open to the east and west and solid and secluded to the north. The natural elements can be easily spotted. The loft is defined by the curved beams and this reminds us of an aquatic atmosphere and the boat hull constructions. There is a small storage room for kayaks on the ground floor. Because the location of the house is subjected to constant floods, the floors had to be elevated.There is also a covered deck.
